Solidarity initiative – Plastic cap collection

Westport Fuel Systems Italia has decided to support the Blood Diseases Foundation through the Plastic Cap Collection initiative.

The proceeds will be used to fund scholarships for young researchers, providing additional and much-needed resources.

We agreed to this request also because of its environmental significance, which complements the values we promote in terms of sustainability.

Plastic caps are made from high-value recyclable materials such as polyethylene and polypropylene, and recycling them can reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills.

The recycling process allows caps to be transformed into new products, reducing the need to produce virgin plastic and implementing the concept of a circular economy.

We have set up special containers for collecting bottle caps in various areas of the company, including the main entrances, break areas, and meeting rooms.
