WFS Italy Gender Equality Certification
Westport Fuel Systems Italia has successfully obtained Gender Certification.
This is only the first step, albeit a significant one, on a journey we will all take together toward even more ambitious goals. It is concrete evidence of our commitment to promoting gender equality and inclusion within our organization.
The company’s voluntary decision to undergo an in-depth assessment of its ability to manage equal opportunities, especially at this moment in history, demonstrates its commitment to giving voice and substance to the values that have always inspired Westport.
This recognition is important for many reasons, but above all, it strengthens our reputation. It qualifies us as a company committed to fundamental social values and demonstrates to the outside world that we are serious about ensuring equal opportunities for all our employees, regardless of gender.
Certification also plays an important role in our efforts to attract and retain the best talent, demonstrating our ability to identify the needs arising from the new sensibilities of those taking their first steps into the world of work, as well as those who already have years of professional experience behind them.
The demand for a fair, egalitarian, and welcoming environment is a requirement that ranks at the top of employees’ needs, and this is the direction we are moving in.
The preparation phase for obtaining this certification lasted one year, during which we worked on the six thematic areas required by the standard (Uni PdR 125:2022): recruiting, career management, pay equity, work-life balance, parenting and care, and prevention of abuse and harassment.
This process is supervised by the Gender Equality Steering Committee, composed of Frank Spiniello, Elena Borgini, and Marzia Mutti, the same influential members who hold top positions in the ESG field.
The decision to create strong synergies between ESG and gender issues therefore represents a multiplier of opportunities for the full achievement of sustainability goals.
Based on these premises, we are confident that this commitment will enable us to make Westport Fuel Systems an increasingly modern and people-oriented organization, capable of offering the right professional incentives while also allowing for a balance that promotes personal development.
