Inauguration of the Brescia photovoltaic plant
The climate emergency requires companies to make a significant effort to contribute to the decarbonization of the economic system, setting two objectives: reducing energy intensity and lowering carbon intensity.
The best strategies are achieved through energy efficiency measures, often involving the adoption of virtuous behaviors, combined with the use of technologies capable of generating electricity from renewable sources.
When we talk about the 2015 Paris Agreement, the UN 2030 Agenda, the European Green Deal, and Next Generation EU, we need to understand that they are all moving in this direction, providing a framework of rules and opportunities to stimulate effective change.
The decisive factor, however, is the willingness of companies to embark on this path with conviction and determination, anticipating as much as possible the timing for managing their processes with a net-zero perspective and thus implementing environmental protection practices, social sustainability initiatives, and economic sustainability actions.
In summary, by adhering to ESG criteria.
Westport is fully committed to this momentous challenge and is making continuous, tangible improvements, taking action in every area with targeted projects.
As proof of this commitment, we would like to inform you that on Friday, April 5, the new photovoltaic system at the Brescia Plant will be inaugurated in the presence of the Honorable Fabrizio Benzoni and the Mayor of the city, who will be welcomed by Frank Spiniello, Elena Borgini, Fabio Ravasi, and Stefano Monaco.
Once fully operational, the plant will guarantee “green” production equal to 20% of the necessary consumption, thus achieving a significant improvement.
We believe that this investment will enable us to achieve truly ambitious goals.
